Ranchi This is one of the old cities in India, this place has great values to talk about pre historical values, previously it was known as Loharadaga and today it is the capital of this state Jharkhand. This name Ranchi is derived from a tribal which is one among these villages around this state. Getalsud Reservoir It gives a splendid location for picnic after a 40 km drive from the district headquarters; you have this reservoir in the township of Getalsud, The River Subarnarekha flows through these regions as irrigation. Hatia Dam Just an 11 km journey from the district headquarters provides a sumptuous picnic location to the tourists in this state. The 17th century ‘Jagannath temple’ is an added value nearby this spot. Kanke Dam About 5 km from the district headquarters you have a natural bliss of scenery to visit is this lake which is situated on the base of Gonda Hills. Tribal Research Institute and Museum This is a wonderful spot to admire and learn about the past living of mankind in this region at this piece of land in this earth. The museum expresses a keen knowledge about the tribal living and the anthropology and exhibits great collections of stone sculptures, terracotta’s, arms and ethnological objects. This is located at Morabadi in Ranchi district and the museum is open as of the Indian working hour’s 10:30 to 17:00 hrs. Deori Temple Nearly 65 km from the district headquarters this temple is situated near Tamaar village on the Ranchi – Tata road. The worshipping Goddess here is Durga and it is an ancient shrine that people still conduct the poojas here. Temples of Harradith This is a renowned spot of pre historic ideas of temple built which dated back to the 9th century; here you have the twin temples for Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga. Dassam Waterfalls This location will be an awesome spot to freak out jungle adventure in waters and land, this is located at a distance of 40km from the district headquarters amidst the Taimara village wherein the River Kanchi gushes out from a height of 144 ft. will be an astronomical view of splendor. Hundru waterfalls This spot is situated at a distance of about 45 km from the district headquarters, so green and clean around with great woods mounding fills in nature beauty. This cascade has the water resources from the river Swarnarekha and it falls from 320 ft height. At the bottom of the fall you have a pool with swimming and bathing facility which are aesthetic and sensational to dwell in the jungle a while on nature’s lap. Panch Ghagh The name of this spot “means the five cascades” is situated at a distance of 55 km from the district headquarters. The exact spot is on the way to Simdega Via khunti. Jonha Waterfalls This is another natural blissful location near the Rarhu river amidst the dense forest, this spot is also known as Gauthamdhara and the falls gushes in cascade from a height of 150 ft. the entire place is encamped with salubrious living in nature and also holistic, the temple here is dedicated to Lord Buddha, this wonderful spot is located at a distance of about 40 km from the district headquarters, the tourism department provides accommodation on prior reservations and permissions.
